Interactions of β-lactoglobulin with Cationic Surfactants: Spectroscopy Study
The interactions of β-lactoglobulin AB in the presence of cationic surfactants such as Cetyltrimethylammonium bromide and Cetyltrimethylammonium p-Toluenesulfonate have been investigated using a variety of experimental techniques such as conductivity, UV-Vis spectrophotometry and fluorimetry. The conductivity of surfactants aqueous solutions with β-lactoglobulin shows that the cmc of cationic s...
متن کاملSynthesis of amine functionalized cellulose nanocrystals: optimization and characterization.
A simple protocol was used to prepare amine functionalized cellulose nanocrystals (CNC-NH2). In the first step, epichlorohydrin (EPH) was reacted with ammonium hydroxide to produce 2-hydroxy-3-chloro propylamine (HCPA). In the next step, HCPA was grafted to CNC using the etherification reaction in an organic solution media. Various reaction parameters, such as time, temperature, and reactant mo...

متن کاملFluorescent detection of cholesterol using β-cyclodextrin functionalized graphene.
A fluorescence based cholesterol detection method has been developed using competitive host-guest interaction between graphene bound β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) with rhodamine 6G (R6G) and cholesterol. Fluorescence of β-CD incorporated R6G is quenched by graphene but is 'turned on' by cholesterol as it replaces R6G from the β-CD host.
متن کاملWater-soluble magnetic CoO nanocrystals functionalized with surfactants as T2-weighed MRI contrast agents in vitro.
CoO nanocrystals (CoO NCs) were synthesized by thermal decomposition of the cobalt-oleate complex. For biological applications, water-soluble CoO NCs were obtained via a facile phase-transfer method by employing amphiphilic surfactants, such as anionic (sodium dodecyl sulfate, SDS), neutral (Pluronic F127, PF127) and cationic (cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide, CTAB). Field-dependent magnetizatio...
